Spectacular Private Vineyard & Barn Wedding Location

The property

Majestic Oak Trees & Vineyards

Set at an elevation of 1,400 feet, The Highlands Estate overlooks the majestic hills and vineyards of the Yorkville Highlands Valley. The elevation and positioning of the property provide the perfect setting for weddings, reunions, vow renewals, and even private corporate events. From nearly every vantage point on the property there are miles of unobstructed and differing views to the beautiful rural countryside surrounding the property.

Magnificent private gates provide entry from the northern portion of the property, directly off CA-128. Upon entering the property and sheltered from view from the other areas of the property, is the guest parking area. All aspects of the venue are set back from the roadway by nearly 1,000 feet, providing an immersive experience with the natural surroundings.

“You won’t find better people to work with than Whitney and Gard or a more picturesque venue than the Highlands Estate. We recommend the Highlands Estate to the fullest degree possible.” - Jessica - San Ramon, CA

Situated on the southwestern portion of the property is the Farmhouse-styled Victorian Estate, which is included with Two-Day and Weekend buyouts, providing lodging accommodations for up to twelve guests. What has now become an iconic point of the property is an old-growth oak tree surrounded by the upper Syrah vineyard that overlooks the Estate and valleys beyond. This Oak Tree location has become a favorite for spectacular “first-look” and sunset photos as well as the setting for smaller ceremonies.

Leading up to the Estate and dividing the upper and lower Syrah vineyards is the driveway lined by deep-purple leafed plum trees, another of many picture-perfect locations on the property. Moving further east from the Estate is the pond that is naturally filled by the seasonal rains. Unlike many properties that rely on wells and pumps for their drinking water, a natural, year-round spring that is filtered and sanitized provides a more than ample supply of water.

Should guests self-drive to the venue, once parked, your guests may be picked up by our available eco-friendly 14-person electric shuttle and transported directly to the ceremony site (at the end of the event the shuttle may be offered to return guest to their vehicles). Many couples bus their guests to the venue, and roadways have been created specifically to accommodate buses of up to 40 feet in length. The roadways allow the buses to also drop off and pick up guests right at the ceremony area, so there are never any great distances for your guests to walk, regardless if they drive themselves or come on a bus. An out-of-view bus “staging area” has been created to allow the buses to stay on property but not seen or obscure any of the views on the property. Should there be handicap guests, there’s handicap parking right at the Four Seasons Barn, along with VIP parking spaces for the couple, wedding party or other designated persons. A separate, hidden vendor parking lot allows convenient access to the Four Seasons Barn while not taking any guest parking spaces.

Perched on the southeastern portion of the property is the Four Seasons Barn, the adjoining Terrace and the ceremony area with the arbor overlooking the vineyards and valleys.

The Four Seasons Barn

Arbor & a slight breeze

The Four Seasons Barn ceremony location, with a capacity of 200 guests, complete with arbor. Northerly facing and shaded by old-growth oak trees from the afternoon sun, guests will enjoy seeing the couple framed by the arbor and set against the breathtaking and unobstructed views of vineyards and hills beyond. The grand steps from the Terrace down to the ceremony area provide an impressive entrance and great photo opportunity.

To ensure that the view isn’t compromised by speakers that might obscure the view and that all guests can hear, the ceremony area is surrounded by hidden rock-speakers. Cumbersome handheld and lavalier microphones for the couple and officiant are unnecessary, as upon stepping into the arbor, hidden microphones capture the voices and deliver the sound to all the guests. Should additional microphones be needed for musicians or readers, additional inputs are available to be mixed into the included sound system.

"Wow. This is it! This is the most beautiful new wedding property in wine country! My new husband and I fell in love with the Highlands Estate the very first time we came to view the property. And that resulted into the perfect wedding!! I know people say not to expect perfection from your wedding, but seriously, it was perfect." - Erin - San Mateo, CA

Dramatic staircase for the ladies

Walking up the grand steps to the Terrace and overlooking the ceremony site, an entirely different vista is presented looking out to the hills and mountains to the East. With the included market lights in place and more speakers, the Terrace is a magical location for dining under the stars, cocktail hour, relaxed games of “corn hole” or catching up with family and friends around the included fire pit. The expansive space – over 4,500 sq feet – easily accommodates unique attractions from vintage trailers converted into bar carts, to photo booths and oyster bars.

Outdoor dining at Sunset

The Four Seasons Barn is entered directly from the Terrace through ornate massive eight-foot-tall doors. Six dimmable wagon-wheel chandeliers with fairy-lights set high above create a romantic and warm atmosphere for all to enjoy. Fully climate controlled, guests will be comfortable regardless of the temperature outside. As this is where the dancing takes place, an acoustically tuned sound system is in place, keeping the floor space clear of any speakers and providing an immersive sound experience. Depending on the time of year and preferences of the couple, many times dining takes place inside the barn as well. Whether dining inside or out on the Terrace, twelve oversize and hand-crafted (by Gard) farm tables are included as well as five round tables and comfortable wood chairs for seating up to 150 guests; additional tables and seating may be rented though a variety of vendors.

Cocktails on the breezeway

Two sets of French doors on the south side of the barn lead to the breezeway, fully covered but open-air area. With fans in place providing a refreshing breeze on warmer days, the breezeway is used for everything from cocktail hour to a quieter space during dancing. Besides the dining tables and chairs many other items are included with the rental, such as a rustic wine-barrel bar in position on the breezeway, to market umbrellas for the terrace, rustic tables for welcome drinks, gift tables, dessert bars and even a “sweetheart” table. The north side of the barn contains thoroughly modern ADA restrooms with multiple stalls, as well as two separate dressing rooms. Just outside is a large catering space, which provides easy access for food delivery regardless of whether meals are served inside the barn or on the Terrace.

That is a classic entrance

The west side of the barn provides handicap and VIP parking spaces for the couple, wedding party or other designated persons.

The separate, yet connected spaces of ceremony area, terrace, barn and breezeway deliver multiple opportunities and flexibility to create the perfect atmosphere and experience for your guests. Cocktails on the terrace or perhaps on the breezeway flowing inside the barn? Dinner outside or inside? Create the flow and experience that works for you. In the event of rain, couples have even used the barn for the ceremony, moved to the breezeway for cocktail hour, then back inside the barn for dinner and dancing, bypassing the need to rent a tent. Then again, the terrace can be tented and utilized for dinner, providing an outdoor dining experience while being protected from the elements.

The Oak Tree

The Oak Tree, on the Estate side of the property and surrounded by our Syrah vines of our upper vineyard, may be used for ceremonies of up to 100 guests. The Oak Tree offers expansive views of the Estate, vineyards, hills and mountains to the east. This is a wonderful location for couples wishing to be surrounded by vineyards and shaded by an old-growth oak tree.

Lovely ceremony under an Oak tree & in the vineyards

“The Highlands Estate was the perfect setting for our incredible wedding. It was rustic with BEAUTIFUL views, an air-conditioned barn and amazing farmhouse tables. The ceremony site was perfectly shaded for our guests and the alter is positioned for the gorgeous hill views. Whitney and Gard are so sweet.. they worked with us when we had way more guests than expected. We are so grateful we chose their venue to host the best day of our lives.” - Kim - Santa Rosa, CA
